Kesombongan dan keangkuhan menghalangi seseorang untuk berpikir jernih guna menerima hidayah dan kebenaran.

Pride and arrogance prevent someone from thinking clearly in order to receive guidance and truth.

Ada 2 (dua) hal yang perlu dipahami dari pernyataan al-Qur’an tentang iman dan kufur. Di satu sisi al-Qur’an menyatakan bahwa manusia pada fitrahnya adalah membawa potensi beriman kepada Ketuhanan tauhid, tetapi di sisi lain al-Qur’an juga menyebut bahwa kebanyakan manusia tidak beriman, walaakin aksara annas la y’minuun (Q.S. 13:1) dan hanya sedikit yang beriman dan berterima kasih kepada Allah SWT, qolilan ma tasykuruun (Q.S. 32 : 9), pertanyaannya, faktor apa yang menyebabkan manusia banyak menyimpang dari potensi fitrahnya, dalam hal ini menjadi kufur, tidak bertauhid tetapi syirik.

There are 2 (two) things that need to be understood from al-Qur'an statements about faith and kufr. On the one hand the Qur’an states that man in his nature is to bring the potential of faith in the belief in tawhid, but on the other hand the Qur’an also mentions that most people do not believe, walaakin aksara annas la y’minuun (al-Qur’an Surah 13: 1 ) and only a few who believe and thank to Allah SWT, qolilan ma tasykuruun (al-Qur’an Surah 32: 9), the question is, what factors cause humans to deviate greatly from their natural potential, in this case being kufr, not Tawheed but shirk.

Kalau kita lihat dari kisah surah tersebut, ada faktor internal dan faktor eksternal yang menjadi penyebabnya. Yang dimaksud faktor internal adalah sifat-sifat negatif manusia yang menjadi titik lemah manusia sehingga manusia bisa terhanyut dalam kekafiran dan kebodohan. Sedangkan faktor eksternal penyebab kekafiran manusia adalah lingkungan dimana manusia itu hidup, baik lingkungan fisik, sosial, maupun spritual. Secara rinci faktor eksternal yang menyebabkan manusia kafir dan syirik adalah kepicikan, kebodohan, kesombongan/keangkuhan, keputusasaan, dan keberhasilan.

If we look at the surah's story, there are internal factors and external factors that cause it. What is meant by internal factors are human negative traits that become human weak points so that humans can be carried away in disbelief and ignorance. While the external factors that cause human disbelief are the environments in which humans live, both physically, socially and spiritually. In detail the external factors that cause infidels and shirk are shortsightedness, ignorance, arrogance despair, and success.
