Pemodelan aspek kebumian, Model Sistem Pengamatan Bumi Goddard (GEOS) terdiri dari sekelompok komponen model yang dapat dihubungkan secara fleksibel untuk menjawab pertanyaan terkait berbagai aspek Ilmu Kebumian. Pengembangan model GEOS menganut arsitektur modular Earth System Modeling Framework (ESMF) . Struktur modular ini menyederhanakan pengelolaan kode model dan konfigurasi model, untuk memungkinkan kemajuan dengan penerapan terdepan dari proses berpasangan dalam Sistem Bumi. Pekerjaan GMAO dengan GEOS mencakup rentang skala ruang dan waktu yang luas serta mencakup representasi proses dinamis, fisik, kimia, dan biologis.

Earth-related modeling: The Goddard Earth Observing System (GEOS) model consists of a set of model components that can be flexibly linked to address questions related to various aspects of Earth science. GEOS model development adheres to the modular architecture of the Earth System Modeling Framework (ESMF). This modular structure simplifies model code management and configuration, enabling advancements in leading-edge applications of coupled processes in the Earth System. GMAO's work with GEOS spans a broad range of spatial and temporal scales and includes representations of dynamical, physical, chemical, and biological processes.
