Air Danau Kawah,
Air Danau Kawah
air.
Crater Lake Water,
Crater Lake Water is a mass of water that
covers the surface of a volcanic crater. Crater Lake Water can have various
characteristics, such as:
. Fluoride content
Crater lake water can contain high levels of
fluoride (F-), such as the water of Kawah Putih Lake which contains F- of
9.4–12.6 mg/L.
• Temperature
The average temperature of the crater lake
water in Crater Lake National Park, USA, is 38° below a depth of 300 feet. In
summer, the surface can warm up to 55° or 60°.
• Acidity
The water of the crater lake of Mount Ijen has
a pH close to zero, so the water is similar to battery water.
• Color changes
The color of crater lake water can change due
to various factors, such as high rainfall, increased water temperature, and
heating by magma beneath the crater lake.
A crater is a bowl-shaped depression formed by
volcanic activity. About 12% of the 700 volcanoes on earth have craters covered
by water.
