Air Tanah Aspek Kegeologian,

Aspek geologi yang berkaitan dengan air tanah meliputi: 

·      Struktur geologi

Kekar, sesar, dan lipatan struktur geologi berkaitan erat dengan kondisi hidrogeologi. 

·      Cekungan Air Tanah (CAT)

Air tanah mengalir dari daerah imbuhan ke daerah lepasan dalam CAT. Geometri CAT dibatasi oleh batas-batas hidraulika yang dikontrol oleh kondisi geologi dan hidrogeologi wilayah setempat. 

·      Litologi

Sistem akuifer dibagi berdasarkan jenis litologi. Misalnya, akuifer bebas dengan porositas antar butir pada litologi batupasir tuffan karbonatan. 

Selain aspek geologi, faktor-faktor lain yang memengaruhi ketersediaan air tanah antara lain: Curah hujan, Morfologi tempat (kemiringan lahan), Vegetasi (tumbuhan), Jenis tanah dan batuan.
