A. Latar Belakang

Orang tua adalah pendidik utama dan terpenting, namun juga
yang paling tak tersiapkan. Pasalnya, mereka harus mencari sendiri informasi
dan pengetahuan tentang bagaimana menumbuhkan dan mendukung pendidikan
anak-anak mereka dalam kondisi positif. Selama ini, jika berbicara pendidikan
maka fokus pembicaraan hanya kerap jatuh kepada siswa dan guru. Sementara
orangtua seperti diabaikan dalam pendidikan. Padahal, orang tua memiliki peran
sangat besar dalam pendidikan anak. Keberhasilan pendidikan anak bergantung
kepada keterlibatan keluarga. Banyak penelitian menunjukan bahwa keterlibatan
orang tua di sekolah bermanfaat, antara lain:

terhadap guru, dan mempererat hubungan dengan anak; dan
(3) bagi
sekolah memperbaiki iklim sekolah, meningkatkan kualitas sekolah, dan
mengurangi masalah kedisiplinan.

Sekolah tidak dapat memberikan semua kebutuhan pertumbuhan
dan perkembangan peserta didiknya, sehingga diperlukan keterlibatan bermakna
dari orangtua/keluarga dan anggota masyarakat. Anak-anak belajar dengan lebih
baik jika lingkungan sekitarnya mendukung, yakni orang tua, guru, dan anggota
keluarga lainnya serta masyarakat sekitar. Artinya, sekolah, keluarga, dan
masyarakat merupakan “tri sentra pendidikan” yang sangat penting untuk dapat
menjamin pertumbuhan anak secara optimal.
Untuk itu, perlu dibangun kemitraan antara sekolah, keluarga, dan masyarakat.
Kemitraan antara sekolah dengan keluarga dan masyarakat dalam membangun
ekosistem pendidikan sejalan dengan visi Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan
yaitu “Terbentuknya insan serta ekosistem pendidikan dan kebudayaan yang
berkarakter dengan berlandaskan gotong royong”.

Oleh karena itu, diharapkan kemitraan antar tri sentra
pendidikan tersebut dapat berjalan dengan baik dan bermakna. Sebagai unsur
dalam ekosistem yang terdekat dengan anak, keluarga mempunyai banyak kesempatan
melalui interaksi dan komunikasi sehari - hari. Bentuk dan cara-cara interaksi
dengan anak di dalam keluarga akan mempengaruhi tumbuh kembangnya karakter
anak. Proses interaksi yang diterima anak dari keluarga inilah yang akan
digunakan oleh anak sebagai dasar untuk proses perkembangan selanjutnya di luar
rumah, termasuk di sekolah dan masyarakat. Petunjuk teknis ini disusun untuk
memberikan panduan kepada satuan pendidikan dalam menjalin kemitraan dengan
keluarga dan masyarakat yang diharapkan dapat memberikan dampak kepada
keluarga, antara lain :
