adalah Badan Usaha Milik Negara yang berbentuk Perusahaan Perseroan (PERSERO)
sebagaimana dimaksud dalam Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 12 Tahun 1998 dan
Perusahaan Umum (PERUM) sebagaimana dimaksud dalam Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor
13 Tahun 1998. Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN) merupakan salah satu pelaku
kegiatan ekonomi yang penting di dalam perekonomian nasional, yang bersama-sama
dengan pelaku ekonomi lain yaitu swasta (besar-kecil, domestik-asing) dan koperasi,
merupakan pengejawantahan dari bentuk bangun demokrasi ekonomi yang akan terus
kita kembangkan secara bertahap dan berkelanjutan.
BUMN (in Bahasa) is a State-owned Enterprise in the form of a
Limited Liability Company (PERSERO in Bahasa) as referred to in Government
Regulation Number 12 of 1998 and Public Corporation (PERUM in Bahasa) as
referred to in Government Regulation Number 13 of 1998. State-Owned Enterprises
is one of the economic actors importance in the national economy, together with
other economic actors are privates (big-small, domestic-foreign) and

BUMN
adalah badan usaha yang seluruh atau sebagian besar modalnya dimiliki oleh
negara melalui penyertaan secara langsung yang berasal dari kekayaan negara
yang dipisahkan. Persero adalah BUMN yang berbentuk perseroan terbatas yang
modalnya terbagi dalam saham yang seluruhnya atau sedikitnya 51% (lima puluh
satu persen) sahamnya dimiliki oleh Negara Republik Indonesia yang tujuan
utamanya mengejar keuntungan. Perusahaan Umum (PERUM) adalah BUMN yang seluruh
modalnya dimiliki negara dan tidak terbagi atas saham, yang bertujuan untuk
kemanfaatan umum berupa penyediaan barang dan/atau jasa yang bermutu tinggi dan
sekaligus mengejar keuntungan berdasarkan prinsip pengelolaan perusahaan.
BUMN is a business entity which is wholly or partly owned by the
state through direct participation derived from separated state assets. Persero
is a state-owned enterprise in the form of a limited liability company whose
capital is divided into shares wholly or at least 51% (fifty one percent) of
shares owned by the Republic of Indonesia whose main purpose is to pursue
profit. Public Corporation (PERUM) is a state-owned enterprise whose capital is
wholly owned by the state and is not divided into shares, which is intended for
general benefit in the form of providing goods and / or services that are high
in quality and pursuing profit based on company management principles.
Berdasarkan
Undang-Undang Republik Indonesia Nomer 19 tahun 2003 mengenai Badan Usaha Milik
Negara, dijelaskan melalui pasal 2 bahwa BUMN memiliki maksud dan tujuan berupa,

memberikan sumbangan bagi perkembangan perekonomian nasional pada umumnya dan
penerimaan negara pada khususnya;
(2)
mengejar keuntungan;
(3)
menyelenggarakan kemanfaatan umum berupa penyedia barang dan/atau jasa yang
bermutu tinggi dan memadai bagi pemenuhan hajat hidup orang banyak;
(4)
menjadi perintis kegiatan-kegiatan usaha yang belum dapat dilaksanakan oleh sektor
swasta dan koperasi; dan
(5)
turut aktif memberikan bimbingan dan bantuan kepada pengusaha golongan ekonomi
lemah, koperasi, dan masyarakat.
Based on the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 19 of 2003
concerning State-Owned Enterprises, it is explained by Article 2 that SOEs have
aims and objectives in the form of,
(1) contributes to the development of the national economy in
general and the state revenue in particular;
(2) the pursuit of profit;
(3) to carry out the general benefit of providing high quality good
and / or service providers and / or services sufficient for the fulfillment of
the livelihood of the public;
(4) be a pioneer of business activities that can not be
implemented by the private sector and cooperatives; and
(5) actively provide guidance and assistance to entrepreneurs of
economically weak, cooperative, and community groups.
